Genel bakış

Lemon is the longest programme we run. Interdonato opens in the first week of September, which is genuinely early for the Mediterranean and is the single strongest position Turkish lemon holds in the market. Kütdiken follows from November and, because it stores exceptionally well, carries the programme through to May from controlled-atmosphere rooms.

Two things buyers ask about and should. First, degreening: Interdonato picked in early September is physiologically mature but still green, and most destination markets want it yellow. We degreen with ethylene to order and declare it on the lot. Second, storage disorders — Kütdiken held long is prone to chilling injury below +10 °C and to rind staining if it goes into store wet. Our rooms run +11 to +13 °C for long-hold lots, not the +8 °C you might expect.

Juice content and rind oil both matter for processing enquiries. We report both on request.

Yoğun sezon

Interdonato (Enterdonato)

The early lemon and the reason the Turkish season opens ahead of Spain. Long, cylindrical, with a distinctive nipple and smooth thin rind. Few seeds, high juice, and an acidity that is softer than Kütdiken. Picked green from early September and degreened to order.

Lamas

A mid-season Turkish selection between Interdonato and Kütdiken, oval with a medium-thick rind and good yellow colour without degreening from late October. Higher acid than Interdonato and better transit tolerance. Stores three to four months.

Kütdiken

The main-crop and storage lemon, and the variety that gives Turkish lemon its reach. Oval to elliptical with a thick, textured rind that protects it through long holds — CA rooms carry it to May with minimal loss. High acid, high juice, and it is the variety to quote for any programme running past February.

Meyer

A lemon–mandarin hybrid rather than a true lemon: rounder, deep golden, thin-skinned, markedly less acidic and more aromatic. Sold to food service and specialty retail rather than as a commodity lemon. Thin rind means it bruises and it will not carry a long transit.
