From the packing house
First colour break came in the third week of September. Okitsu is picked on the acid drop rather than on sugar, which is why the early fruit can still carry a green shoulder and still eat correctly.
Kütdiken held below +10 °C takes chilling injury that shows as rind pitting only after the container is opened. Our long-hold rooms run +11 to +13 °C — warmer than most buyers expect, and deliberately so.
Ethylene from apple drives isocoumarin formation in carrot, and the crop turns genuinely bitter. It is the most common cause of a bitterness claim on an otherwise sound load.
